What should your website design be like?

What should your website design be like?

Brief

Good website design is built on a single theme and color palette, readability, and making visuals serve the job: people come for information, not effects. At the same time, it’s worth giving the designer freedom in execution.

  • Define the theme and palette before you start designing pages, or the site breaks into inconsistent styles.
  • Design supports content: clarity first, aesthetics second.
  • Brand identity in website design builds company recognition.

If you’ve decided to build a website for yourself, then you’ve definitely thought about the overall look and feel, color palette, and other design features you’d like to see on your site.
Website design – is the first thing a visitor will notice, so to speak, the face of your company. In your website’s design, the first step is to define the site’s overall theme and the color scheme that will be present on your site. Color tones should work well together and not cause a negative reaction from visitors (be overly bright, dull, etc.). That’s why it’s worth remembering that in website design it’s very important to keep a sense of balance so the visual style doesn’t interfere with how information is perceived.
If you want to present your business on the internet, you need to remember that the main condition for good website design – is moderation, simplicity, and neatness.

Rules for successful website design are quite simple:

  • The optimal number of colors used in a website design – is 2-3 colors;
  • Colors should be harmonious and not create a negative impression for visitors;
  • It’s worth using commonly used fonts that are easy to read;
  • Unusual fonts should be used only in extreme cases (sometimes such fonts are used to style the company name);
  • You shouldn’t overload a website design with an abundance of details, especially in areas where the most important information is placed (it’s better if all the information on the site is important);
  • As for the site background (the so-called “background”), it’s better to avoid background images in favor of a solid neutral color or texture. In this case, you can be sure that the visitor will be able to read any information without difficulty;
  • You can compare several sites with similar themes and identify the positive and negative traits you’d like to take into account when creating your website design;
  • Remember that if you overload your site with various add-ons and a “complex design”, then users with slow internet will take much longer to open the site, and the information will take longer to process, and someone may get tired of waiting and choose another site. Because of this, you may lose a significant portion of visitors;
  • Recently, the so-called “minimalism” trend has become more widespread, where website design is reduced to simplicity of elements. This option is very simple, but at the same time beautiful in its own way and looks quite stylish;
  • Remember that first and foremost people visit websites to get the information they need, not to look at flashy design.

    Trust the designer working on your project. Let them apply their experience and talent to bring your ideas to life in the website design.
